Farmer Pettson has ten chickens and a cat named Findus on his farm. The cat and the hens are friends who play all day. One day, Farmer Pettson brings home a rooster and the hens fall in love with him. When Findus tries to play with the hens, the rooster bites his tail and chases Findus away. The rooster crows all day and he is loud! Poor Findus misses his friends and hates all the noise. Farmer Pettson tries to set a compromise: the rooster can only crow for five minutes an hour. But the rooster gets a sore throat doing an hour's crowing in just five minutes and the noise is louder than ever. Then Findus tricks the rooster into thinking that Farmer Pettson only wants crowing twice a day, and that's too much for the rooster. The next morning, the rooster has left the farm. Findus confesses his trick and Farmer Pettson has just the punishment: Findus must take the rooster's place, wake everyone up and guard the hens. Description
